Overall comments:
I really enjoyed the class. I felt it was very helpful for my job working with kids. I highly recomment this course to all employees working at Kids Peace. I also feel this course is very helpful even when not at work.

The trainers were very knowledgeable and the role plays were effective for classroom use.

I am really impressed. I really learned a lot. I think this would be an excellent training for 1st year GNETS teachers and paras.

Jess [Racine] is clear and helpful! I also really liked watching role plays from the trainers as I felt it was very beneficial for my work with KidsPeace

Excellent trainers. They role played very well together.

I will use these skills on a daily basis!

I liked the small group activities, live role modeling instead of the videos, and games best to engage active and visual learners instead of just reading a PowerPoint or listening to a person stand and talk for hours.

Describe the significant learnings you are taking away from this course:
The many tools I can use to work with the kids at work.

There are too many to type, but the most important is the power of putting language to emotion.

I see myself using this in my GNETS classroom with my students and helping them connect language to their emotions.

Using a timeline can get you to the root of a behavior, and then you can decide how to proceed.

The course will help me see client behaviors in a different, deeper way.

Strategies to give language to students emotions, thoughts and how to break their negative patterns.

I learned that being patient, listening to the client, and staying nuetral can come a long way.

Taking my time to help clients find insight is very important in LSCI and to help clients even more.

How do you see yourself using the information and skills you’ve attained?
De-escalating students and helping them resolve conflicts

It is very helpful in all aspects of life.

I see myself using all the skills taught as I move through my career.

I will use it everyday with my students.

I will use this information to understand the emotional needs of my students as well as to de-escalate situations as they arise.

A lot!

In my daily individual sessions – primarily timeline, central issue, insight and new skills.

On a daily basis at work.

I have already and it felt good to get the child to speak up.

One of the biggest things I took away from this course was how to avoid counter aggression with kids in crisis.

What would you change about this course?
Nothing!

Nothing. I’d like to take a refresher in a year or so just to make sure I keep up with all of the skills.

Just that I wish I had taken this earlier in my career.

Nothing, I enjoyed the course very much.
