LSCI 2-day Training Completed at KidsPeace National Centers

The LSCI 201: Introduction to LSCI course offers a 1-day training in the foundational skills of LSCI, including brain-based, trauma-informed strategies for de-escalating problem situations with students and learning how to listen in ways that help kids talk through challenging situations.

Describe the significant learnings you are taking away from this course:
Proper communication skills and proper knowledge on how to physically and emotionally interact with the kids here at kidspeace.
The power of drain off and timelining in order to resolve a conflict and having others calm down.
I’m looking forward to implementing the techniques like Drain Off and Timeline to mediate conflicts between conflicts.
How and why creating a positive listening relationship with a client is so important.

How do you see yourself using the information and skills you’ve attained?
I see myself using it at my work place with all of the cildren and co-workers here at my job.
I can utilize these skills by resolving a conflict that I experience within the clients.
I’m looking forward to using the Drain Off and Timeline techniques to help mediate conflicts between clients.
I see myself implementing what I have learned today in many situations as an Mental Health Tech.

I would like to attend the second part of this course to develop more knowldege on Life Space Intervention.
I can utilize these skills by resolving a conflict that I experience within the clients.
I would love to take the other 3 classes to continue the training!
I would definitely like to look into the four day course to learn more about LSCI
